File Prep
Print-Ready PDF Guidelines
To ensure your file prints correctly, please follow these basic steps:
1. File Size
- Set your document to the final trim size
- Add 0.125" bleed on all sides (if your design has color to the edge)
2. Safe Area
- Keep all important text and logos at least 0.125" inside the edges
- This prevents anything from being cut off
3. Resolution
- Use 300 DPI for all images and graphics
4. Color Mode
- Use CMYK color mode for accurate printing colors
5. Fonts
- Convert fonts to outlines OR embed them in the PDF
6. File Format
- Submit as a print-ready PDF
- No crop marks unless requested
-
Exporting from design software (Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, etc.): choose "Export as PDF" or "Download as PDF" and select a compressed or standard quality setting to keep the file under 10 MB
Already have a PDF? Open it in Adobe Acrobat and use File > Save as Other > Optimized PDF to reduce the file size
7. Final Check
- Double-check spelling, alignment, and image quality before submitting
